The Miller Family

In the Spring of 1820, the future first converts of the Miller family, 10-year old Daniel Arnold Miller and 14-year old Clarissa Pond lived with their parents, Daniel with his widowed 49-year old father, James Gardner Miller, since Daniel’s mother, Ruth Arnold Miller had died almost four years earlier at age 48.

In Spring 1820, Millers lived in Lexington, Greene Country, NY until Daniel’s brother, Henry, “came of age,” and at least the two brothers went west to Chicago to earn their way and save up enough money to buy property in Quincy, IL.
